It's nice to meet you!
My name is Julia Drooff and I am an architectural designer and digital media creator based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
In 2021, i graduated with my degree in art and digital media from Scripps College in Claremont, CA and left my part time position with Calderon Architecture & Design Studio to begin a full- time position as an architectural designer with Graves+Associates in Tacoma, Washington. After a year in Tacoma, I moved to Seattle, Washington to work as a Project Coordinator for the global architecture firm Perkins+Will. In 2023, I decided it was time to keep advancing my career and begin my master's in architecture and historic preservation at the University of Virginia.
With a background in construction, studio art, and graphic design, I have a particular interest in adaptive reuse, historic preservation, and equitable architecture.
I aim to be an architect that uses strategies of adaptive reuse to protect the history and character of our communities while serving the public and accounting for a healthier, more sustainable future.
I am currently: In the first year of my Masters program at the University of Virginia.
